Battlefield Band - Time & Tide

Select from currently available formats:

Time & Tide was the first Battlefield Band record to feature Alasdair White, the teenage fiddle prodigy from the Isle of Lewis, who joined the established force of Alan Reid and Mike Katz. In addition, celebrated Irish guitarist and singer Pat Kilbride came full circle and rejoined the band here for a second stint after a 23 year gap, having last appeared on their 1978 'At The Front' album.

As always, the evolution of the group and the development of their music has been organic. Change happens, but not just for the sake of change. It is always a positive move, quietly but invariably pointing the way forward. Both new members found their feet  immediately in this particular line-up change - Alasdair's beautiful title track setting a high standard - and the Battlefield Band journey continued with another superb album.

"...Another new chapter in the never ending story of Scotlands legendary band.... ...they knit the Scottish tradition into a sound that still sounds fresh, alert and relevant... ... No tricks, no gimmicks, just very fine music."
