Battlefield Band are becoming increasingly known for their original and traditional songs and tunes, and many of these are included in this collection, published in 1988.

The music is divided into three sections - bagpipe tunes, tunes for instruments other than the bagpipes, and songs. There are 90 tunes and 45 songs, and the pieces selected are either traditional or composed by members of battlefield, past and present. All the tunes in the book have appeared on a Battlefield Band album.
