Pat Kilbride - Nightingale Lane
This is Pat Kilbride's fourth solo album and the years he has spent touring and absorbing different cultures have coalesced with a finely honed technique to create an album of beauty, from a mature musician. Here is consummate guitar playing that is both crisp and accurate when playing melody, driving or sensitive when accompanying others. His cittern skips delightfully along with the other instruments and there are 4 great songs too.
At the time of recording, Pat had just come full circle and re-joined Battlefield Band, 23 years after appearing on their 'At The Front' album in 1978. He's joined on this record on by a number of musician friends - Brian Kelly, Tommy McManamon, Miriam Kavanagh, Kane O'Rourke and Gino Lupari, and also by his Battlefield Band peers: Alan Reid, Mike Katz and Alasdair White.
"Joined occasionally by the current members of the Batties clan, he remains most powerful on solo guitar, as in his own mesmerising 'Methenyesque' title track"
"Pat displays dazzling dexterity on the guitar and cittern and he really comes into his own with his fine vocals"PETE FYFE
