Leo McCann

Leo McCann from Benburb, Co Tyrone, in the north of Ireland is a well known button box and tin whistle player in the traditional music world.

Leo has been based in Scotland for over twenty years and has performed in many groups such as Drop The Box, Corner House, Iron Horse and Malinky. In addition, Leo performs in a unique collaboration with Highland poet Aidan McEoin and DJ Dolphin boy.

Leo has appeared on many albums with acts as diverse as renowned Gaelic singer Ishbel MacAskill, Hardie & Marwick, John Morran, country singer Scott MacDonald, and on the acclaimed CD series 'The Complete Songs of Robert Burns'. He has recently recorded with American bluegrass legends Ben Winship and Tim O'Brien.

A superb musician, and fine composer, his tunes have been recorded by artists such as Blazin' Fiddles, Wolfstone & Harem Scarem.
