The recording of these traditional smallpipe reels came out of a 'session' in the studio with our truly excellent, yet deeply dangerous, friend Mr Mike Whellans adding his harmonica to the mix. The first tune in this set is from a piece of Gaelic port-a-beul (mouth music) which is more frequently sung to a different melody (you can hear the other version on our Dookin' album).  The second tune is a traditional Irish reel, which is also known by several other names, and the last tune is a 'heavy' competition-style traditional pipe reel.
