Alison Kinnaird - The Harper's Gallery (Vinyl and Download Only)
Alison Kinnaird has long been established as a leading exponent of Scottish harp music. Released in 1980, this is her second album, and is the follow up to her acclaimed debut recording 'The Harp Key'. Her first album, which was entirely instrumental, uncovered much music which had previously been locked away in collections for a century or more. This record continues and expands on the process, but also features Alison's voice; singing songs which cover a broad spectrum on the Scottish tradition, from border ballads to Gaelic song.
We have an extremely limited quantity of this album on vinyl, which we've unearthed from our stockroom. It was never released on CD but three of the tracks appeared on 'The Scottish Harp', a compilation of recordings featuring Alison.
